Jonathan has been in and around business for 25 years. He is a target-oriented individual who thrives on growth.
His career commenced in the UK where he rose through the ranks of organizations like Whitbread Beer Co. & PepsiCo in a series of Customer Management and Leadership roles. At the age of 30 he was a member of the UK Executive for a major US subsidiary and went on to manage major UK retail clients. He opted to self-fund an MBA, at a leading UK business school, that he studied for part time and graduated in ‘record time’ with prior to emmigrating to New Zealand in 2003.
During his time in NZ Jonathan has continued his passion for growth and developed a skill as a Troubleshooter for significant businesses. He played a key role in achieving years of successive growth for RB (Finish, Nurofen etc..) as a Head of Customer Marketing and then as Sales Director for L’Oreal evolved the commercial organization such that they achieved significant presence, and market leadership, within mainstream NZ grocery. After many years operating in supplier environments he took advantage of a unique opportunity to ‘leap the fence’ and spent 2 years working in Countdown initially on the Pharmacy set up project and then as a Merchandise Manager with a $420m portfolio – this has given him rounded exposure to effective customer and consumer engagement.
Jonathan has significant experience in managing Clients, Teams (a number of his people have gone on to senior roles both in NZ and overseas), Products as well as practical exposure to most aspects of an organization.
For some time he had not derived all that he wanted from larger companies and started to coach SME’s ‘on the side’ as well as gaining exposure to self-development education and more formal coaching programs. In conjunction with this he has also created charity projects that have raised visibility and funds for Make-A-Wish & MotorNeurone Disease Assn., safe to say he is passionate to use a distinct creative side as well.
He lives with his partner Irina, daughter Alina, their dog Scooby and regular feline visitor Presley.
